How hot are these sandals? I am loving these wedges but holy baby Jesus on the price tag.  Quality does not come cheap ladies.  I am slowly convincing myself that I need these in my life and that they would be an investment.  Real leather, check.  Sculpted wedge that gives the sandals a modern edge, check.  Cute zipper down the back, check. They’ll hopefully last forever, check.  High heel that won’t make you feel like an ant next to your bf (4.5″ heel with a 1″ platform), check.  I’ll be adding to this mental list until I get my next pay check.  I think I need another job just to finance my shoe habit ha ha ha. @ the Luncheon with our group of Glamour Gals, Tabitha, and Yours Truly

When Seventeen asked me to be one of the hosts at the Glamour Gals Beauty Blogger Luncheon I immediately agreed. The Glamour Gals organization combines my love of makeup with community service. The volunteers give back by giving makeovers to women in nursing homes. We all know how a little makeup and some nail polish can boost our mood, something that those women can definitely use. Getting pampered feels great at any age.

After listening to some panelists, the GG broke up into groups for lunch and chit chat. Tabitha, from imnotobsessed.com, and I hosted a small group of girls where we talked about everything from blogging, to making YouTube videos, to makeup and fashion.

If there are any high schoolers out there looking for a way to combine your passion for makeup and giving back to your community, check out the Glamour Gals site. It is something that I wish I knew about at that age.

Teyana Taylor

Teyana Taylor, of MTV Super Sweet 16 and “Google Me” fame, was twitpic-ing up a storm last night about her new lipgloss line called Dope Lips. She posted several photographs from her photoshoot for the line that will be launching soon.

The picture above is my favorite of the bunch. It is very Give Them Some Lip: liner, lashes, and a bold lip. Don’t be afraid of wearing a bold color just because your lips are full. Flaunt ‘em if you got ‘em.

That doesn’t mean we have to abandon our nudes either. As William Cowper said: “Variety is the spice of life.”

President Barack Obama Accepting Nobel Prize @ Press Conference

When one door closes another door opens. Just when critics were saying that Obama might have lost his mystique when Chicago lost the 2012 Olympic bid even after making an appearance in Copenhagen, the Norwegian Nobel Prize Committee awarded him the Nobel Peace Prize. This morning President Obama gave his accepting speech at a press conference from the White House and he shut the haters down by saying that he felt like he did not deserve to be in the company of other recipients of the award. Obama is the youngest president to receive the award and many say he has not done enough to be given such an honor. He is not delusional and accepted the award as a “call to action.”

That’s right haters, he’s not acting like he doesn’t know. The swag is back! We didn’t want the 2012 Olympics in Chi Town anyway. Rio deserves it and can have it. We have an economy to recover.
