The Look: Christina Hendricks @ 2010 Emmy Awards

Christina Hendricks

2010 Emmy Awards

Christina Hendricks looked radiant on the Red Carpet of the 2010 Emmy Awards.  The actress paired her lilac Zac Posen gown with subtle and youthful makeup that made her hair (and other assets) the stars of the show.  Celebrity makeup artist Vanessa Scali shared how you can get Christina’s Great Gatsby inspired look:

Inspiration:

Mia Farrow’s Daisy Buchanan from “The Great Gatsby”

Face:

Vanessa prepped the skin with Lancôme’s La Base Pro. To perfect Christina’s already luminous skin, Vanessa used Lancôme’s new Teint Miracle Lit-From-Within Makeup. “It has an amazing transparent quality that leaves the skin looking flawless and luminous without being shiny,” said Vanessa. “I applied it with a brush and then blended with my fingers.” Blending with her fingers heated up the foundation a bit, allowing for a seamless finish. Vanessa followed with EffacernesConcealer under the eyes, her “all time favorite concealer.”

Cheeks:

For a fresh pop of color I used Lancôme’s Blush Subtil Shimmer in Pink Pool on the apples of her cheeks. Dabs of Giorgio Armani Beauty’s Fluid Sheer #2highlighted Christina’s cheekbones.

Eyes

The eye shadow was mix of YSL’s Ombre Solo Eyeshadow in Cashmere Brown and Midnight Black. “I applied these all over her lid, under the bottom lashes and blended it out past her natural lash line to softly elongate the eye,” reported Vanessa.

Eye Liner:

To define and elongate the lash line, Vanessa lined the eyes with Lancôme’s Le Crayon Khôl in Black. “I used a touch of liner under her bottom lashes but smudged it for a softer look,” said Vanessa.  For added depth, Vanessa used Artliner Precision Point Eyeliner in Noir at the very base of Christina’s lashes.

Mascara:

Several generous coats of Lancôme Définicils Waterproof Mascara in Black were used on the top and bottom lashes.

Lips:

Christina’s lips were a mix of Lancôme lip colors for an effect that Vanessa described as “red with a little dash of pink.” A sheer coat of Color Design Matte Lipstick in Corset was topped by La Laque Fever Lipshine in Cyber Coral.

Christina Aguilera

2010 MTV Movie Awards – Performance

Chritina’s makeup changed from warm to cold when she took the stage at the awards show.  She swapped golden brown lids for a silvery ones paired with a gray cut crease.  Check out how celebrity makeup artist, Kristopher Buckle, achieved the look:

For Christina’s eyes, Kristopher defined the crease and around the lash line with Armani Maestro Eye Shadow in #38, a charcoal shade. The intense silver shine topping Christina’s lids was Ombre Magnétique in Urban Silver, a brand new gel-like shimmer shadow coming from Lancôme this fall. (Stay tuned for more details!) Lancôme’s Artliner in Noir and mega coats of Hypnôse Drama Mascara in Excessive Black finished the dramatic eye look.

Christina’s lips—already a gorgeous red, thanks to Lancôme’s Color Design Matte in Red Haute—got a dramatic coat of shine with Color Fever Gloss in Mercury Rising, a sumptuous red shade.

The Look: Christina Aguilera @ 2010 MTV Movie Awards – Red Carpet

Christina Aguilera

2010 MTV Movie Awards – Red Carpet

Christina Aguilera rocked a glamorous fresh-faced look at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards.  Warm golden lids paired with a pop of red on the lips is one of my go-to looks for special occasions, especially during the spring and summer seasons.  Celebrity makeup artist, Kristopher Buckle, shared how he created the look:

The mission, says Kristofer, was to give Christina “perfect ivory skin and strong bone structure” to highlight her bold and classic red lip. To start, Kristofer prepped the skin with Lancôme’s new Teint Idole Fresh Wear Foundation in Bisque and Maquicomplet Complete Coverage Concealer in Ivoire (a makeup artist favorite). For the eyes, Kristofer swept YSL Ombre Solo Smoothing Effect Eyeshadow in #2 Cashmere Brown along the crease. Three coats of Hypnôse Drama Mascara in Excessive Black topped the upper lashes and one light coat coated the lower lashes.

For Christina’s glam red pout, Kristofer first lined with Lancôme’s Le Lipstique Lipcolouring Stick in Rougelle, a sheer red liner. Color Design Matte Lipstick in Red Haute delivered the rich dose of red—perfect for the iconic pop star.
