Event: The Makeup Show Announces Final 2012 Dates

The Makeup Show announced the final list of dates and locations for its 2012 shows.  The PRO-only (according to their website: “proof of professions, such as a business card, industry license, COMP card, etc or student status is required at the door prior to gain entry”) event is the place to be for makeup artists seeking to restock their kits since many (not all) exhibitors offer discounts and value packs, get inspired and network with your peers:

The Makeup Show sets out to feature another full year of inspiration, education and beauty.  All five shows spanning throughout the year will bring beauty and fashion pros to the largest industry event with elite and some first time ever appearances from top artists, leading brands and exclusive product offers.  Don’t forget to mark your calendar as the show crosses through your state to stay on top of the looks for the upcoming season and network with industry professionals to gain valuable tips and tricks.

Photo Diary: Fashion’s Night Out NYC

Last night I hit the town with my friend Reena for Fashion’s Night Out in NYC.  Judging from last year’s frenzy, my expectations of seeing anything I wanted to see were pretty low.  However, I did not let that stop me so I dashed over to Saks Fifth Avenue after work because I had to see Rebecca Minkoff, the woman behind the bag in which I carry my entire life every day.  I was in luck because there were no crowds of raving lunatics in sight when I arrived and was able to walk right in and see Rebecca and Leandra Medine, of “The Man Repeller” and “arm party” fame, the highlights of my Saks visit.  I totally missed Lea Michele and Anna Wintour, who also made stops at Saks, while I was in line (for an hour) at Rebecca Minkoff’s Braid Bar.  Who knows what other celebrities were saved from my camera and iPhone while I was waiting but that’s the life I chose.  Next up was Michael Kors’ new store at Rockefeller Center where I was able to see the designer give a short speech and introduce the Rockettes’ mini performance.  The final stop was Sephora where I met Josie Maran.  She is even more gorgeous and glamorous in person and the same can be said for Solange Knowles.  I was this close to her!  She hit the turntables at Sephora and the crowd two-stepped and sang along to the 90s jams she played.  Good times indeed.

Stop by Inglot on Fashion’s Night Out and try out the products that have been popping up in so many YouTube beauty videos.  Have you seen MakeupGeekTV’s Upside Down Smokey Eye! tutorial?  She used Inglot eye shadows in the look and the results were gorgeous!

Event: Rebecca Minkoff Endless Summer Sale

Fellow Minkettes, it is time for another Rebecca Minkoff sale!  My favorite styles are the M.A.B. and M.A.C. Clutch that I have spotted in several variations on the sale section.  I carry my entire life to work everyday in a black M.A.B. (aka Morning After Bag) and I can’t believe how long it has put up with my abuse.  Their M.A.C. Clutch is another favorite because it is a crossbody bag that you can dress up or dress down and it holds more than the average crossbody (notice a theme here?).  After browsing the sale, I have narrowed down my next victim to either a Swing or a BF bag.  Let me know what style you would choose in a comment below.

I am addicted to Pretty Little Liars!  All of the story’s mysteries always leave me wanting more and it is full of inspiration for fashion, hair and makeup.  This morning was spent catching up on episodes I missed while I was on vacation and, as destiny would have it, I received an email this afternoon about Ashley Benson’s (Hannah on the show) Seventeen signing at the American Eagle in Times Square next week .  Did I mention I work in the area? Yeah it is destiny ha ha.  I will be using my lunch break to stop by with the September issue and my Seventeen Ultimate Guide to Style.  Mark your calendars because you’re invited, hope to see you there!
